Dear Volunteers,
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of THE PLAYGROUNDgr 2025 Book Drive in celebration of November Reading Month! This special initiative supports our Healing Through Play Curriculum by collecting books that will be gifted to children, families, and classrooms across Grand Rapids and the surrounding areas.
THE PLAYGROUNDgr is dedicated to bridging racial, cultural, gender, and socioeconomic gaps through the power of play. We believe that play heals—and that it strengthens emotional health, mental health, trauma recovery, and community connection. Our goal is to collect 50 copies of each of the six featured books—two of which are available in Spanish—by the end of November 2025, ensuring that children and families participating in the Healing Through Play Curriculum have access to stories that inspire, comfort, and connect.
