MLK's Beloved Community - A UAB Service Day

Sponsored by the Leadership and Service Council, MLK's Beloved Community (formerly the UAB MLK Day of Service) honors the memory and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Hosted on Dr. King’s birthday, a federally celebrated holiday and day of service, this event provides an opportunity for UAB students to join forces with Birmingham citizens to empower and strengthen our community, moving us closer to Dr. King’s global vision of a “Beloved Community.”

This year’s event will be hosted on Monday, January 20, 2020 and will be the kick-off event for UAB's Creed Week highlighting the tenets of Diversity and Service. Our event will begin at 9:00 am in University Recreation; brunch will be served to attendees immediately following check in.

Volunteers will depart for their assigned service sites from
11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Pre-registration is required for this event, so please check back frequently for service site updates listed below. For waiver details, event information, and disability accommodations, contact or call 205.934.8020.
