Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy

About

Southern Reins Center for Equine Therapy serves individuals with physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities by providing equine-assisted services to empower, inspire, nurture and succeed.
Volunteers are needed to walk alongside our riders or lead the therapy horses, and we have opportunities on weekday mornings and afternoons. We also have special events where you can lend your time and talent.

To volunteer for our Adaptive Riding Program at Southern Reins:
-Must complete new volunteer training. Contact Meredith Massa at meredith.massa@southernreins.org or call 901-290-1011 for more information.
-Must be at least 13 years of age.
-Must be able to walk continuously for up to one hour on uneven ground.
-Must be able to hold arm above head for extended periods of time.
-No prior horse experience is required.

The physical requirements listed above are to ensure the safety of our participants, horses, and volunteers. If you have questions or would like more information about the requirements to volunteer, please contact Meredith.
