About

Homework Help is held August - May, during the school year (when Fayette County Schools are in session). It is on Mondays through Thursdays, 4:00 - 7 pm. We encourage volunteers to work a minimum of 4 shifts in consecutive weeks, but you are welcome to serve for the entire semester. Our need is for consistent volunteers who come each week to help children with homework. Homework Help volunteers assist K - 12 (but mainly K - 5) students with reading, math, social studies, science and other school assignments. Patience, love of children, flexibility, and a desire to serve children are required. The signup form is on the library's website. Volunteers 18 and up must first do a background check through our site before they can begin volunteering at the library. The Lexington Public Library uses its own internal scheduling system, so please contact us directly for more information on how to sign up, do the background check and schedule your shifts: 859-231-5575
