About

Have you been told you have the “Gift of Gab” or perhaps that you never meet a stranger? Do you enjoy meeting new people and helping people even if it's in a small way? The Germantown Community Library always strives to be warm, welcoming and neighborly to everyone who walks through our doors. What better way to do this than to say “Welcome to the Library! How can we help you?” as each patron walks in? But even going beyond a warm welcome, this “Roll Out the Red Carpet” position will also be available to answer questions concerning monthly programs, library procedures for patrons, the layout of the library and location of certain collections, and help with simple computer questions when the staff at the information desk is busy. This is a key volunteer position as this is Face #1 seen by patrons when entering the library. This volunteer should be up-beat and enthusiastic about the library, its programs and opportunities, and about being a volunteer.

Germantown Community Library is eager to find volunteers whose dedication to reading, literacy and their commitment to the community will inspire them to be library volunteers for at least 6 months at a time.

These are weekly shifts. When volunteering for this position, you will be volunteering to work the same day and time each week.
But we are very flexible and understand if your schedule needs to change from one week to the next. If you have any questions about this position, please email Rachel Babb at rachel.babb@avenuinsights.com.
