About

The amount of negativity during COVID and Wild Fires in October last year drove Susi and me to create a positive impact in the community. This gave birth to our flagship project called Operation HOPE.

Operation H.O.P.E (Health, Outreach, Partnership, Encouragement) was a community project for the community by the community.

The idea is to reach those who were the most vulnerable during the winter months. Those who were experiencing homelessness and those who were in nursing homes facing isolation. We wanted to make sure they know that we care about them too.

We partnered with both Shelters, Nursing homes, and Non Profits to provide individuals with little bags full of goodies. At a minimum, we provided them with

  1. Hand Sanitizer
  2. Mask
  3. A treat like a couple of mints
  4. A word of encouragement or artwork (Greeting Cards, Origami, or 3D Printed Items)
  5. A warm item (socks, scarves, beanies, mittens).

From October to Feb we were able to make 5000 bags and distribute them to 64 organizations across the Portland Metro region. We working with City officials, community members, and corporations to make this happen.

In Summer we want to partner with the Federal Lunch program and provide similar goody bags that will contain items for kids such as band-aids, pencils, erasers, and a STEM Kit. To increase our reach we want to develop a website for the nonprofit we formed to create more such interesting volunteer projects.

We want help. We have no experience creating a website and would appreciate help from students to come up with a basic website that would

1. Highlight the key projects that we plan to support (Health, Outreach, Partnership, and Encouragement)
2. A contact form for partners in the community to connect with us. (Optional)

This will be a remote opportunity. All conversations will happen via Google Meet or Zoom.
