About
Support local, national, and international efforts to address food insecurity. Participants will advocate in support of policies to end hunger, grow food in urban food deserts, and serve at South Florida's largest food distribution center.
The module is composed of several parts:
- Orientation
- Weekly Check-Ins
- Service Activities
- Reflection
This is a 10 hour service opportunity.
Participants are expected to complete at least 3 of the activities to receive credit.

The recipes created in this module will be shared with the posted on the Barry Urban Garden website and other resources. The collection of cards will reflect the Barry community, and allow those who use produce some inspiration of how to use the produce from the garden.

The website provides information about what the farmworkers in Immokalee are going through during COVID-19. To receive credit for this activity you are to call Governor Ron DeSantis, to advocate for the farmworkers in Immokalee. Please write a script for what you plan to say when you call the office. The script should include information from the New York Times article, the Deliberative Dialogue, and the CIW website. The script should be at least two paragraphs long. Please save the script as a file and upload the file of the script to the forms link below.
The reflection is a required component for the Food Security Module.
