The Vietnamese Friendship Association (VFA) is a small organization in southeast Seattle. VFA offers programs that focus on youth and community leadership, educational and academic achievement, and parent empowerment. Our mission is to advance equity in education, foster civic engagement, and advocate for Vietnamese and other refugee and immigrant communities. 

Family Classes

This Semester we are currently offering a variety of family support classes that are aimed at families of our students. These adult classes can focus on a variety of topics, Ranging from healthcare classes to computer classes. 

Student classes will take place monthly Usually on the first Saturday of the month.

Family Classes will take place weekly on each Saturday of the month. 

The schedule for the Saturday program will be provided to you once you have applied to the program.

Service Learner Key Responsibilities

  • Assist staff in various tasks such as sign-in, hallway monitoring, breakfast and lunch preparation, and clean-up, and more.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Assist in engaging students to learn through organized one-on-one or group activities.
  • Offer support in classroom management.
  • Assist in collaborating with program staff to improve program activities.
  • Support program staff with facility compliance.
