Description
Join the Doc's on Tuesdays in the Japanese Garden. Learn about Japanese gardening techniques and styles while helping shape this incredible garden.
Tasks could include:
Pruning
Bamboo care
Zen dry garden care
Volunteers will meet with City Gardener Adam in the Japanese Garden at the Bonsai House.
Requirement Details
Bring work gloves or contact the Volunteer Coordinator and let her know you need to borrow a pair.
Water bottles and sunscreen are highly recommended.

A fun group of volunteers to work with
Parking DetailsPark close to the Exit of the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. There is a black chain link fence with a walking gate at the end of the lot. Enter through the gate and go to the right.
The main entrance to the Japanese Garden is through the Red Tori Gate.
When you enter the Japanese Garden, the Bonsai House is on the right, Cahaba Road side of the property.
